As radio frequency interference becomes an increasingly common challenge across construction sites, agricultural operations, and surveying projects, GNSS hardware manufacturers continue searching for ways to improve positioning reliability. Hemisphere GNSS has now introduced the A65, a new multi frequency GNSS antenna developed in partnership with Calian Group. The new model is designed as a direct replacement for the A45 while introducing advanced interference filtering and broader satellite signal support for demanding professional applications.
Compatible with existing Hemisphere VR500 and VR1000 systems, the A65 allows equipment owners to upgrade without redesigning their current installations, making deployment straightforward for both OEM manufacturers and fleet operators.
XF Filtering improves signal integrity
The A65’s primary innovation is the integration of Calian’s proprietary XF Filtering technology, which is built directly into the antenna.
Unlike conventional GNSS antennas that pass all received signals to the receiver for processing, the A65 actively suppresses unwanted radio frequency energy before it reaches downstream electronics. This helps minimize the impact of nearby cellular networks, communication transmitters, and other high power RF sources that increasingly interfere with precision positioning on active job sites.
The result is improved signal stability, fewer positioning interruptions, and more consistent RTK performance in environments where conventional GNSS antennas can struggle with interference.
Multi frequency GNSS support
According to Hemisphere GNSS, the A65 is engineered for both current and future satellite constellations, providing broad compatibility across modern positioning services. The antenna supports:
- GPS L1, L2, and L5
- GLONASS G1 and G2
- BeiDou B1, B2, and B3
- Galileo E1, E5a, E5b, and E6
- SBAS
- L Band correction services
The antenna operates across GNSS frequency ranges of 1.164 to 1.300 GHz and 1.539 to 1.606 GHz, while incorporating a 30 dB low noise amplifier with a typical 2.5 dB noise figure for enhanced signal reception.
Built for harsh field conditions
Beyond improved interference rejection, Hemisphere has designed the A65 to withstand continuous operation in demanding outdoor environments.
The housing combines an aluminum base with a durable Lexan™ plastic radome, offering protection against impacts and harsh weather. The antenna carries an IP69K environmental rating, operates in temperatures ranging from minus 40°C to plus 85°C, and can be stored in temperatures up to plus 95°C. Hemisphere also states that the design complies with EP455 shock and vibration requirements.

The company says the antenna delivers strong signal to noise ratios, a stable phase center, and improved multipath mitigation, helping maintain accurate positioning near buildings, tree cover, and other environments where reflected satellite signals often degrade GNSS performance. The ruggedized aluminum base is also designed to withstand salt, fog, and marine spray, while the antenna has successfully passed a two meter pole drop test, highlighting its durability for professional field use.
