Quectel Expands Rugged Combo Antenna Portfolio With New Multi Network Solutions for Industrial IoT

Quectel Wireless Solutions has unveiled four new external combo antennas designed to simplify connectivity for industrial IoT devices operating in harsh environments. The expanded lineup integrates multiple wireless technologies into compact, rugged enclosures, allowing equipment manufacturers to reduce installation complexity while supporting everything from asset tracking and fleet management to smart utilities and industrial automation.

The announcement reflects an increasingly important trend across the IoT industry. As connected devices continue to add 5G, WiFi and high precision GNSS capabilities, combining multiple radios into a single antenna package has become one of the most effective ways to improve reliability, reduce installation costs and shorten product development cycles.

Four New Antennas Cover Different IoT Applications

Rather than offering a single universal product, Quectel has introduced four antenna platforms aimed at different deployment scenarios.

The YEMA206J1AM is a compact 2 in 1 antenna that combines LTE and GNSS connectivity for applications such as asset tracking, smart city infrastructure, utility monitoring and remote telemetry. Its adhesive mounting design also makes it suitable for installations where available space is limited.

For customers requiring stronger cellular performance, the YEMA301J1AM adds a second LTE antenna alongside GNSS, creating a 3 in 1 solution intended for fleet management, connected vehicles, public safety systems and mobile broadband applications. Dual cellular elements improve reception while high antenna isolation helps reduce interference between radios.

5G and WiFi Integration Targets High Bandwidth Systems

One of the most interesting additions is the YEMN308L1BM, which combines 5G, WiFi and GNSS into a single rugged external antenna.

Supporting modern 5G frequency bands alongside dual band and 6 GHz WiFi, the antenna is designed for applications that increasingly depend on both broadband connectivity and accurate positioning. Warehouse automation, mining equipment, autonomous machinery, logistics fleets and industrial video systems are among the sectors likely to benefit from this type of integrated architecture.

By eliminating multiple standalone antennas, manufacturers can reduce cable routing, simplify installation and improve overall system reliability while maintaining support for multiple wireless technologies.

10 in 1 Design Supports Complex Industrial Networks

At the top of the new portfolio sits the YENA00L5AH, a 10 in 1 antenna designed for vehicles and industrial platforms that require numerous communication systems simultaneously.

The antenna integrates dual 5G, dual WiFi, dual Tetra, dual N77, AM/FM radio and dual frequency GNSS with L1 and L5 support into one enclosure. It also supports legacy 4G, 3G, 2G, LTE Cat M and NB IoT networks, making it suitable for equipment expected to remain in service for many years while operating across different communication infrastructures.

Its ultra wide operating range from 1 MHz to 7 GHz demonstrates how modern industrial platforms increasingly depend on multiple wireless networks instead of a single cellular connection.

Built for Outdoor Reliability

Every antenna in the new lineup features an IP67 rated enclosure for protection against water and dust, while several models also include UV resistant and flame retardant construction for demanding outdoor environments.

Quectel has also focused on practical deployment by offering flexible mounting options, multiple cable lengths and custom connector configurations. Combined with the company’s antenna simulation and testing services, the portfolio is intended to help equipment manufacturers accelerate product development without designing RF hardware from scratch.

Industry Perspective

The biggest takeaway from this announcement is not simply that Quectel has released four new antennas, but that integrated antenna systems are rapidly becoming the standard for professional IoT equipment.

Modern industrial devices increasingly require simultaneous access to cellular networks, WiFi and high precision satellite positioning. Instead of treating these as separate subsystems, manufacturers are now packaging them into highly engineered antenna assemblies that reduce installation errors, improve RF performance and simplify certification. As 5G adoption continues to expand across industrial automation and connected transportation, this type of multi network antenna architecture is likely to become the default choice for many OEMs.
